About us

Since 1963, an artisan workshop for the creation of models for foundries and moulds

A 60-year (and more) long experience

Over the years, while remaining a family-run artisan company, SARTORI ERVINO has continued to invest in highly qualified personnel and in technology.

This has allowed it, on the one hand, to remain a streamlined and flexible company, on the other, to maintain a high quality standard in step with the times.

The company is certified according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 standard

Since 1963

The journey of the SARTORI ERVINO family business started in 1963 in Mariano del Friuli, a small village in the province of Gorizia.

After having gained many years of long-standing experience as a model maker for Regi Cantieri Uniti of Monfalcone, Ervino decided to establish his own artisanal company together with his son Giorgio, who had just graduated as an industrial mechanic from the prestigious technical high school “A. Malignani” located in Udine.
Together, they started producing wooden foundry models of an exclusively handcrafted kind.
The technical and entrepreneurial skills of both Ervino and Giorgio, together with highly motivated and skilled employees, immediately enabled the company to reach high levels of production quality in a short time, and to present itself to customers as a partner to design new models.

During the early 2000s, Giorgio, who was then working together with his son Roberto, understood that design and project skills were not enough to cope with the new rapidly evolving and increasingly demanding reality: in fact, quality and precision had to be joined by a decrease in production lead times.

Therefore, to tackle the new high-speed market, it became necessary to approach the numerical control world: that’s when the first three-axis NC machine centre was installed, followed shortly after by another 5-axis machine.
These changes required the expansion of the factory to install the new machines and to create bigger models.

Wood starts being used together with other materials, such as polystyrene and resin: the first for a disposable approach, while the second for large series castings. Finally, polyurethane foam for more niche uses.

In fact, in addition to foundry models, CNC milling machines experienced an increasing demand in different fields as well, such as art, nautical and furniture. This is also how the production of ‘moulds‘ began.

Both the CAD design of the models and the CAM making of machine paths remained in the company.

However, the company wants to present its increasingly higher quality standard at an organisational level as well. Hence the decision to obtain ISO 9000 certification in 2012.
Today, after 60 years in business, SARTORI ERVINO distinguishes itself thanks to quality, flexibility and speed in the production of its products.
